I am the owner of Child And Parenting Services and I have a love and passion for children and families. As a qualified and registered nurse, midwife and child health nurse I believe all families should have access to good quality advice and education to help them through the journey that is parenting. I can provide simple strategies to assist families with sleep and settling, nutrition, behavioural strategies and many other common childhood issues.
I was born in Sydney, and my newly arrived English parents grasped the opportunity to provide a life full of adventure for their new family. Moving to Queensland shortly after, my brother, sister and I spend most of our childhood exploring along beaches and enjoying the sunny laid back lifestyle. We moved to Perth in my early teens and my career as a nurse and midwife was cemented in Fremantle and its wonderful surrounds.
My love for Esperance grew with a visit to family and a 6 month offer of work at the hospital in 1993. We never left. My partner and I have created a wonderful life here in Esperance, building a home, having 2 beautiful children and growing a local plumbing business. Life has been good to us. We love the beaches, enjoy camping and travelling when we can. I have experienced the vast and remote Aboriginal communities working in the Kimberleys and our family lived on Cocos Islands with the Cocos Malay Muslim community whilst I worked as a remote area nurse. I know how isolated living in a rural community can be, the social isolation can be all encompassing. I’ve worked with families with disabilities and those with mental illness. I would like to share my child health knowledge and experience with you and help you enjoy the amazing path that all parents roam.
